Hailing from Toledo, Ohio, Adam Russell is a painter who creates compositions by sampling and mixing life's imagery. As a reference to hip hop and postmodern culture, the collage style artworks display painted representations of these images and icons combined freely to intensify the meaning of unlikely symbols, create visual rhythm, and inspire. These paintings use a rootical vernacular to speak actual meaning. Semiotic life maps, the subject matter is reconciliation-- between contemporary art form and the ancient truth.
